Dartford manager Tony Burman says his side are focused on a top-10 finish in Blue Square South this season – before mounting a play-off challenge in their second term in the division.

Darts produced a late rally to beat St Albans City on Saturday to secure their survival with six games remaining.

It is a far cry from January when Dartford were in the bottom three.

A run of nine wins and five draws from the past 16 games has moved Dartford to within sight of a top-10 finish, with Burman’s side now lying three points behind 10th-placed Bromley with a game in hand and a better goal difference.

Burman (pictured) said: "I have been told that we’ve taken 32 points from our last 16 games – two points a game is an excellent return for us."

He added: "We’ll have a good look at things in the summer but we have learned a lot of lessons this season even if it has been a bit frustrating at times.

"We have drawn 12 games and if we could just turn a couple of those into wins then the table could look a bit different. We’ll certainly be looking to try and get up to those play-off places next year."

Burman added: "Finishing 10th is a good target for us now. We’ve still got to play Bromley and it might be that we can try to get up to that ninth-place, although it will depend on other results."

Danny Harris (hamstring) and Joe Bruce (groin) are doubts for Saturday’s visit of Woking, while James White serves the second game of his two-match ban. James Rogers is back from suspension and also missed Tuesday’s game, cup-tied.
