Southeastern train delays after power outage

Commuters suffered delays this evening after a power blip caused trains to come to a standstill.

Network Rail said 15 trains in Kent and south east London had to be cancelled after the problem hit a signalling system.

A Southeastern train

Another 28 ran to amended timetables, which means some are missing regular station stops.

Dartford was the worst affected area so disruption to Southeastern metro routes has been considerable.

Despite the power issue only being temporary, the disruption lasted for several hours.

Peckham Rye station was been closed due to the problem.
