Trains are delayed at Dartford station this morning after a line-side fire.

Services traveling towards the capital and further into Kent are currently running up to 10 minutes late, and the 08:58 to London Victoria was cancelled.

Delays are currently expected until around 9.30am.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was not called to the scene and the incident was quickly dealt with.

Line-side fires normally occur on warmer days when grassy areas housing dry or dead vegetation are exposed to the sun.

Signalling equipment can be damaged by the flames, with visibility sometimes reduced by smoke.
