The company said National Rail officers have been called to the scene, following a report of horses on the tracks.

At about 12.15pm the operator confirmed the animals had been safely moved and trains were running again.

Customers are advised to allow further time for journeys, with some services being delayed, diverted or cancelled.

Tickets can be used on London Buses between Dartford and Lewisham, and the Docklands Light Railway between Lewisham, Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenal.
