Three lorry collision shuts part Dartford Tunnel and causes delays

Collisions in the Dartford Tunnel caused delays on the motorway.
The A282 northbound east tunnel was closed following a collision involving three lorries.
Traffic was being diverted through the west tunnel, which just a few minutes earlier was shut, also for a crash, that has since been dealt with.
Police spokesman James Walker said: "Police were called to a three vehicle collision on the A282 London-bound at 12.19pm.
"Officers are currently at the scene alongside crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
"The collision took place in the East tunnel and a closure of the tunnel has been put in place to ensure public safety.
"At present, no serious injuries have been reported however motorists are advised to expect delays."

The fire service sent two engines to the incident and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a man trapped in one of the vehicles.

Three men were seen by the two ambulances and two cars that were in attendance. Two were taking to nearby hospitals.

A second crash happened within the crossing in the east tunnel which forced traffic to be diverted into the west tunnel.
Lanes have now reopened but travel time is about an hour and a half.
