Two men on the run from police after armed robbery in Watling Street, Dartford

Two men are on the run from police after an armed robbery at a shop in Dartford this afternoon.

Police were called to Watling Convenience Store in Watling Street at just before 1.30pm following reports of a man using a weapon to threaten a member of staff and steal a quantity of cash.

He was seen fleeing the scene on foot alongside another man who was waiting outside.

A police helicopter was assisting in the search for the suspects, who are still at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 18-0608.

The incident comes after reports of a failed armed robbery attempt in Lowfield Street less than 24 hours prior, with police still searching for two men spotted wearing balaclavas as they made their getaway.
