St Clements Way closed as emergency services attend van fire in Greenhithe

Firefighters have been called to tackle a van blaze in Greenhithe.

The incident happened in St Clements Way by Mounts Road around 11am.

Two fire engines remain at the scene and Kent Police and the air ambulance are also in attendance.

There were some reports of an unconfirmed explosion involving the van.

Two women have been taken to hospital for their injuries after being assessed and treated at the scene.

One is believed to be seriously injured.

The road remains closed while the emergency services deal with the incident and firefighters are advising the public to avoid the area.
