Police probe launched after mass brawl at New Ash Green sports pavilion field leaves man with facial injuries

A mass brawl involving about 30 people broke out at a playing field, leaving one man with injuries to his face and leg.

Weapons were spotted by onlookers as the violent incident at New Ash Green sports pavilion field got out of hand.

Police say two groups of men were involved in the fight, which broke out just before 4pm.

Officers are continuing to establish the full circumstances and remain at the scene off Punch Croft road.

No arrests have yet been made.

Witnesses say cars were driven onto the field during the altercation.

Ambulance crews were also called to the scene, as they tended to a man who sustained facial and leg injuries.

The New Ash Green Rugby Club was not involved and it is currently closed for the Christmas break.
