St Albans v Welling
WELLING manager Neil Smith has urged his team to carry on their winning form at lowly St Albans on Saturday.
The Wings travel to St Albans hoping to build on a mini-revival of back-to-back wins.
Victory could see them move into a mid-table position in Blue Square South but defeat will plunge them straight back into the early relegation dogfight.
Smith said: "We've got two wins on the trot now, albeit one scrappy performance in the FA Cup, and we need to keep that going.
"There are some winnable games coming up for us, we need to have a decent October and get ourselves into a good league position."
Ellis Green, who quit the club in the summer to join Eastleigh, came on as a second-half substitute in the FA Cup win over Barkingside last Saturday after his swift return to Park View Road.
But Smith insisted that he will not be guaranteed a place in the starting line-up at St Albans.
"Ellis has to fight for his place," said Smith. "He realises that he isn’t going to walk straight back into the team."
