A spokesman for the Gravesend RNLI station said: "We launched last night to a possible casualty in the water, after an unmanned vessel was spotted. We were joined by the police helicopter and PLA (Port of London Authority) vessels.

"The casualty was on the foreshore on the water line. Attempts were made to revive her. Then the ambulance service arrived and care was handed over to them."

Firefighters confirmed they were also called out to the Ingress Park area at about 10pm yesterday.
