Woman freed from ditch

A woman from Swanscombe had to be rescued after getting stuck in a ditch.
It happened at 10.45pm last night on Leonard Avenue and involved emergency services including two fire engines, police, an ambulance and the Hazardous Area Response Team - specialists who have been trained to provide life-saving medical care in hostile environments.
Firefighters freed the woman who had fallen into the three-foot trench and become stuck.
Once freed half an hour later she was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
