Crash on A2 Watling Street at Pepper Hill

A woman has been cut free from her car after a crash on the A2.

The accident involving two vehicles happened on the coast-bound carriageway between Ebbsfleet and Gravesend at around 6.15pm.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.15pm following a two-car collision on the coastbound carriageway of the A2 Watling Street at Pepper Hill.

"One woman was cut from her vehicle and is being treated for a head injury that is not believed to be life-threatening.

"Both vehicles have been moved to the hard shoulder but a road closure remains in place and will be lifted as soon as it is safe to do so."

The road reopened at around 8pm and delays have since cleared.
