The Dartford Crossing has been re-opened after officers rescued a woman.
Police closed the bridge at around 3pm this afternoon following concerns for her safety
Traffic is still slow moving along the M25.
Traffic was at a standstill on the QEII bridge after reports that a woman was threatening to jump.
Motorists were being diverted by police through the east bore tunnel but the bridge has now been re-opened.
One driver told Kent Online that the female has told traffic management that she did not want to speak to anyone.
A spokesman for Essex Police said earlier today: "We have closed the QEII bridge from Essex into Kent following concerns for the safety of a woman.
"We are currently on scene and the incident is ongoing.
"Drivers will be taken through the east bore tunnel.
Police then posted on Facebook : "We have now brought the woman to safety and bridge is re-opening.
"We appreciate your patience, understanding and compassion."
