Bradley Wright-Phillips

Bradley Wright-Phillips got the only goal of the game as Charlton kept up with the League 1 pacesetters with victory at Yeovil on Saturday.

Wright-Phillips (pictured) scored with a powerful header after 63 minutes to ensure Chris Powell’s side took maximum points.

Yeovil enjoyed the best chances of the first half with Paul Huntingdon going close twice. He put a free header over the bar from a corner and then shot wide from a good position.

An unmarked Andy Welsh then sliced the ball wide after being picked out by Gavin Williams as the half finished goalless.

Wright-Phillips missed a sitter for the visitors early in the second half. Yeovil were caught out by a long ball and Joe Anyinsah picked out Wright-Phillips but he shot wide.

The Addicks striker then played in Anyinsah, but a defender got back to deflect his shot behind.

Wright-Phillips nodded the Addicks in front, before keeper Rob Elliot made a great save to prevent Matt Fry from netting an own goal. Therry Racon then cleared the ball off the line from Huntington at the corner.

Six minutes of stoppage time were added, but the Addicks held on for victory.
