Dartford youngster Harry Crawley has set his sights on the finale of the 2009 Formula Kart Stars Championship after finishing fifth overall in the national series Super 1.
The 12-year-old, competing against more experienced rivals, finished 22nd in the final meeting of the series at the PF International track near Grantham.
After finishing seventh in qualifying, Crawley made up positions in the heats, taking third and then second.
In the pre-final, he took second spot but in the all-important grand final, he was hit from behind on the third hairpin, lost ground and later received a black flag.
"I was disappointed because I think that one final cost me two places in the championship standings," he said.
This weekend the Wilmington Grammar School pupil heads for Whilton in Northamptonshire for the FKS double-header.
