Train operator Southeastern has been criticised after a passenger said it ordered over 100 fellow travellers off a ‘broken’ train - only for it to spring into life and continue on its way.
James Braddick from London was visiting Dartford to see his children when the incident happened on Sunday at Albany Park.
The 52-year-old said: "I caught the 4.34pm train from London Bridge when the train stopped at Albany Park. The guard said the train was slipping on the rails and then the lights went out which they said was to divert more power.
"Eventually we were told the train wasn’t going and were told to get off.
"I stepped outside and there must have been about 100 people getting off with many of them wondering how they were going to get home.
"About 10 seconds later the doors closed and I got back on the train again and it carried on to Dartford."
Albany Park is roughly five miles away from Dartford.
Mr Braddick added: "These poor people had no way of getting home. I think Southeastern has a duty of care to its passengers and they completely ignored that.
"The people on the station and on the train were no help whatsoever and I’ve since spoken to people in the office and they say they have no idea what I’m talking about.
"If anything happened to those people than that’s gross neglect - even if nothing did happen, it’s still gross neglect."
Southeastern has yet to comment.
