A night fisherman was horrified to discover his car ablaze in the early hours of Wednesday.

The man had parked the vehicle in the Homebase car park in Princes Road while he went off to fish.

However, Dartford fire crews were called to the area at 5am to reports of a car fire.

When they arrived it was fully alight and although they quickly doused the flames it was completely destroyed.

Police are thought to be investigating the incident.
