An austere five foot tall MP and a six foot four dancing star
aren't your usual combination.

But this year Ann Widdecombe and Stricty Come Dancing judge
Craig Revel Horwood are set to waltz on to the stage together for
Dartford's pantomime.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs launched at Spitalfields Market
in London as unsuspecting shoppers were given a taste of what's to
come when flamboyantly dressed Ann and Craig stumbled on to the
stage.

Though you might think December is a long way away, 16,000
tickets have already flown off the shelf.

And Ann, 63, is keen to show her lighter side with her debut at
the Orchard Theatre in Home Gardens.

The former Maidstone and the Weald MP, who will play
Craig's servant as Widdy in Waiting, told the Messenger that she is
open to any other opportunities going.

She added: "It's going to be great fun and it's just wonderful
to be taking part in so many different things. I'm really looking
forward to being back in Kent where I have so many friends."

Ann is looking forward to performing beside Strictly Come
Dancing judge Craig, who will play the part of the wicked
Queen.

The pair went on tour together after Ann's appearance in last
year's Strictly series.

Ann said: "Off camera, Craig's a real pussy cat. I'm really
looking forward to working with him again as we had such fun on
tour."

She added that panto fans could look forward to a dance on
stage, although she would not reveal whether it would be a tango or
a waltz.

"That bit's a secret but it will be spectacularly hilarious
I can assure you of that," she added.

Craig added: "I love the fact I get booed consistently
through the show.

"I love the fact that I get to wear high heels and frocks - it's
hilarious.

"People don't recognise me when I first come on because I look so
different and people aren't used to seeing me perform."

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs runs at The Orchard
Theatre, Dartford, from Friday, December 9 to Saturday, December
31.
