Appeal after missile is thrown from bridge

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a brick or rock was thrown from a footbridge above the A2 and struck a car.

The driver of the silver Nissan Micra saw three boys on the footbridge at Darenth, near Dartford, and as she passed underneath it. The object damaged the bumper and number plate.

The driver was not hurt in the incident which happened on February 22 at about 10.50am.

Parents are urged to remind their children how dangerous it is to both themselves and motorists, dropping objects off of bridges.

Chief Inspector Simon Black said: “Many young people do not realise the danger they can put car drivers in when they do something like this.

"This particular driver was very lucky not to have been hurt. Anyone who commits an offence such as this can expect robust police action to be taken against them.”
