POLICE in North Kent have renewed their appeal for information following a street robbery in Lowfield Street at Dartford.
The incident happened when a 17-year old man was walking from the town centre towards a kebab shop, opposite the DA1 nightclub. He stopped to speak to a friend and as he did so he noticed a group of three men walking towards him.
Two members of the group started shouting at the victim to hand over his neck chain. They threatened to assault him if he refused.
One of the men then reached out and lifted the chain off of the victim’s neck before running off in the direction of Princess Road. As the man who stole the chain ran away, he lifted his t-shirt above his head.
The chain is a 30in belcher chain valued at £1,500.
The offender who stole the chain is described as a white man wearing a white t-shirt with a blue cross on the front and dark jeans.
The other two men are described as white, of medium build and both wearing jeans. One man was wearing a long sleeved t–shirt and white trainers and the second man had blond, cropped hair.
The robbery took place between 1am and 1.30am on July 17. PC Nick Webber said: “The man who stole this chain was quite distinctive in the way he ran off with his t-shirt over his head.
"People who were out in the area at this time would remember seeing someone like this.
If they did I would urge them to contact the police as they could have information that would assist the enquiry.”
