A man remains in custody this afternoon after being arrested by armed police following reports he had a gun.
Police were called at 5.40pm yesterday evening to Iron Mill Lane in Crayford following reports of a man seen with a firearm.
Officers, including firearms officers, attended and a cordon was put place.
Armed officers surrounded a property in nearby Claston Close and were able to make their way inside and arrest the man on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
He was taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
Met spokesman Aimee Young said a firearm was recovered from the house and no shots were fired.
