A driver has been arrested after after a car crashed into a lamppost.

Police were called after the incident off London Road in Greenhithe last night.

Officers attended and found the car had left the road and mounted the grass verge just after 10pm.

Paramedics were also called to the scene.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

He remained in custody this afternoon while inquiries continued.
