English Schools hopeful Natalie Hickmott (pictured) did her chances of selection no harm by winning the under-17 300m at the Southern Schools Inter Counties Championships in Southampton on Saturday.
The Dartford AC runner - who won the 300m at the Kent Schools Championships the previous week - is ranked fourth in the UK and has already produced the qualifying time ahead of the English Schools Championships at Don Valley, Sheffield, next month.
Others who are hoping for call-ups include sister Lucy Hickmott, who produced a personal best of 2.19.9 in finishing second in the under-15 800m in Southampton, and Gemma Brown who was second in the discus with a throw of 29.41m and who has already thrown the ES qualifying distance.
Samantha Brown was second in the under-17 300m hurdles, while Alex Carlton was sixth in the under-17 high jump.
George Taylor ran a pb of 24.2 in the under-15 200m to finish second, while under-17 Tim Billings won the shot put with a pb and club record of 14.60m and was second in the javelin with a pb of 55.71m.
Both he and Adam Chalk, who won the under-17 100m hurdles, have already achieved the ES qualifying mark.
Aaron Barham was third in the high jump with a pb of 1.87m.
Daniel Shaw won a silver medal in the Southern Counties under-20 Championships in Surrey and hopes to be selected for the English Schools Championships.
