Dartford attack leaves postman unconscious outside flats in Bridges Drive

A postman delivering a parcel has been knocked unconscious in a vicious attack.

The robber struck outside flats in Bridges Drive, Dartford, knocking out the postman and stealing the package he was attempting to deliver.

It is not known what was inside.

The injured postman was taken to hospital after members of the public called the emergency services.

His assailant escaped in the direction of the A282 and may have attempted to hide in the gardens of nearby properties.

Detective Sergeant Paul Fewtrell said: "This was a particularly vicious attack that has left a man in hospital, and we are keen to track down the person responsible.

"Postmen offer a valuable service to the community and should feel free to carry out their role without fear of being attacked."

The attack happened about 11.45am on Thursday, January 15.
