Charlton put six goals past nine-man Barnsley on Saturday to give themselves an outside chance of making the Championship play-offs.
Bradley Pritchard, pictured, gave the Addicks a fourth-minute lead after Luke Steele had parried Yann Kermorgant’s shot.
The visitors doubled their score through Johnnie Jackson and Kermorgant headed them further in front at the start of the second half.
Barnsley’s afternoon got worse when Stephen Dawson was sent off for a tackle on Kermorgant and Callum Harriott’s 20-yard strike then crept under Steele to make it 4-0.
Charlton substitute Salim Kerkar got himself on the scoresheet and Barnsley had a second player dismissed when Tom Kennedy saw red for a professional foul on Ricardo Fuller.
Fuller completed the rout in stoppage-time to leave Charlton six points outside the top-six with four games left.
