Southfleet: Fire crews alert police to 'suspicious' car fire in Rectory Meadow

Police have launched an investigation after a Bentley car set on fire.

Fire crews attended the incident in Rectory Meadow, Southfleet at around 9.40pm last night.

No injuries were sustained and no one was in the car whilst it was alight.

Fire crews said they thought the fire seemed "slightly suspicious" so called the police.

Police spokesman Martin Very said: "Police were called by Kent Fire and Rescue Service at 9.58pm on Friday, October 26 regarding a car that was alight.

"Inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
