Thames-side fire station canteen, a 99p store, and north Kent police station have been named as some of the cleanest places to eat.
Gravesham's restaurants, cafes, food stores and canteens are being put under the microscope as inspectors give verdicts on the cleanliness of eateries and upload the results online for all to see.
The scheme between Gravesham council and the Food Standards Agency will give people the chance to check how clean their local takeaway or canteen is.
Each business is given a hygiene rating after a Gravesham council food safety officer inspects the premises.
The scores, which range from zero (urgent improvement required) to five (very good) shows how closely the business is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.
The scheme was launched on Friday. So far, 186 out of 484 businesses in Gravesham have gone online.
At the moment, only the top scoring restaurants and stores, those scoring four or five, which have been inspected in the past year are included.
Clare Reed, Gravesham council's senior environmental health officer, said they wanted to launch on a high.
The rest will be added as they are inspected, with the website updating every fortnight.
Businesses that have done badly will be included unless they appeal against their score.
Melanie Norris, speaking at the launch, said: "As a council we are preparing for the 2012 Olympics. This is a great way for businesses to attract tourists with so many of you at the top of your game so display your awards with pride."
