Plans have been submitted to transform a former quarry site into an £81 million new homes development.
The luxury complex, dubbed Little Hithe, would see 187 flats built in the disused chalk pit near London Road, close to Greenhithe Station.
It is to be made up of one, two and three bedroom apartments with 247 undercroft parking spaces and an additional 50 spots for visitors. Of these new homes it is said 10% will be designated as affordable units.
A planning application has now been submitted to Dartford council for consideration by the company behind the plans, Imperial Corporate Capital.
The company says the project will result in around 227 direct and 199 indirect jobs.
It hopes to capitalise on its "strategic location" close to the A2 and Bluewater Shopping Centre and projects it will generate an extra £4.3m for the local economy through added retail expenditure.
Developers say the planning bid also includes the potential to assist with improvements to the local highway network.
If the plans were to go ahead, a new tree-lined direct pedestrian and cycle link to Greenhithe Station is proposed from London Road.
A new ticket station for the railway and drop-off point would also be included, should the scheme move forward.
The project has been designed by award-winning Kent architects Hollaway, known for key projects across the county including their involvement in the re-invention of Dreamland in Margate, and designing Rocksalt Restaurant and Bar in Folkestone.
Their brief focuses on "providing an attractive, landscaped setting for the scheme", which the developers say is respectful to its location and is integrated into the existing environment.
Facing south towards the train station, all apartments will overlook a landscaped podium garden open to all residents and a new playground would also be created.
The building steps up from six storeys to nine storeys, with large open terraces for the top floor apartments, and balconies for the remaining flats.
Solar panels will also be placed on the top roof to reduce the building's energy consumption.
Fabeo Russell, chief executive officer of Imperial Corporate Capital PLC, said: “We have set out to create an outstanding gateway building that will help meet the current and future housing needs of the borough.
"Our proposals actively support the use of sustainable transport with new immediate access for local rail passengers wanting to commute across London and Kent.
“Working with leading architects we have designed the scheme to incorporate large amounts of landscaping to appeal to both residents and neighbouring residents.
"The designs enable an exceptional quality of living with access to communal green space, terraces and balconies, plenty of natural light and high-quality interiors."
