FIREFIGHTERS rescued an elderly woman from a blaze in sheltered accommodation last night.

The fire broke out in the ground floor flat of Templars Court, Littlebrook Manor Way, Dartford, at around 9.40pm.

The elderly woman, believed to be in her 70s, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital suffering with smoke inhalation.

Six fire engines attended the scene.
