A 33-year-old blind skier will attempt to break a world record on Sunday - weather permitting.
Kevin Alderton, from Heather Drive, Dartford, hopes to set a new blind speed skiing record in the Flying Kilometer in Les Arcs, France.
The former ex-serviceman expects to reach speeds of around 120mph during the attempt.
He lost his sight seven years ago following a street attack in London and is being sponsored by St Dunstan's, the charity which supports disabled ex-servicemen in achieving their dreams.
The world record attempt had been due to take place on Thursday but was postponed due to heavy snowfall and the risk of avalanche.
As well as the speed ski record, Kevin is also in training for the 2008 World Championships and 2010 Paralympics.
