A Bluewater department store was evacuated this morning after the fire alarm was accidentally triggered.

An automated announcement was triggered in House of Fraser asking scores of shoppers to leave the store immediately as a precaution.

But the doors were soon open again after it was discovered the cause of the alarm was human error.

No other shops in the Greenhithe complex were affected by the alarm.
