Visitors to Bluewater may notice a change next time they go.
The shopping centre is trialing an initiative for the next 11 months to explore the role sound and music has on visitors to the complex in Greenhithe, near Dartford.
It has worked with experts from music and design agency Altaura to create different soundscapes throughout the centre, aimed at improving shoppers experience.
Currently being fine-tuned, the music will see different genres and tempos tested, as well as lyrical and non-lyrical tracks used, to see which guests like the most.
Centre director at Bluewater James Waugh said: “Whether it’s welcoming new retail brands, adding adrenaline-fuelled activities or bringing a new family-friendly event, we are always looking to innovate to make sure we offer guests the very best retail and leisure experience.
“Sound, and music in particular, has been shown to have many benefits from reducing stress levels to improving our overall wellbeing, so we’re keen to make sure we’re innovating across every area of the centre experience here at Bluewater.”
