A bomb disposal team joined a large police presence this morning at a house where investigations began several days ago.

Officers and vehicles have been stationed outside a house in Wentworth Drive, Dartford, since Sunday.

Police initially said they were "carrying out inquiries in connection to an aggravated burglary which was reported at 8.08pm on Sunday."

One neighbour saw the bomb squad arrive at around 9.30am today.

They said: "I was away on Sunday when they [the police] arrived and returned on Monday – it was a bit of a shock.

"Initially my first thought was are they all ok but thankfully we heard they were so it was a huge relief.

"I can't say if anything has been taken out of the house but there are a lot of transport vans about."

The house has not been cordoned off but multiple police vehicles remain nearby – two cars, two larger vans and a smaller forensics van.

The bomb disposal team left just before midday.

Kent Fire and Rescue's technical rescue unit has also been there at one point over the past few days.

Police confirmed a 31-year-old man from London was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident.

No injuries were reported and inquiries are still ongoing.
