Yann Kermorgant snatched a late winner as Charlton were made to wait until injury time to earn all three points at Bournemouth.
The win maintains the Addicks’ commanding lead at the top of League 1 as Kermorgant’s header came on the stroke of full time at the near post from Danny Green's corner.
For the Cherries, another defeat dented their fledgling hopes of reaching the play-offs.
Bournemouth had the best of the early chances when Wesley Thomas's 16th minute shot in the six-yard box struck a post from Scott Malone’s cross. Bradley Wright-Phillips was denied soon after by a neat Darryl Flahavan save.
After the break, Danny Green saw a close-range effort blocked by Flahavan from Johnnie Jackson's cross, while Thomas went close again for Bournemouth shooting just wide of Ben Hamer’s goal.
Keeper Hamer was forced to come off early through injury when Jon Sullivan replaced him on 68 minutes. But, he had little to do until he saved a Harry Arter shot moments before Kermorgant’s winner.
Charlton have a 13-point lead over second-placed Sheffield United and an impressive 17-point advantage in the automatic promotion places.
