A 16-year-old boy has been charged following a serious assault.

At around 5pm on Sunday, July 9, a man was reportedly assaulted by a teenager in London Road, Dartford.

It is alleged the suspect left the scene immediately after.

The victim was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

A 16-year-old boy was later charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (July 19) and has been bailed to a further hearing at Medway Youth Court next Thursday.

Officers are focusing on tackling violent crime as part of the force's ongoing Safer Summer initiative.
