Dartford consolidated their mid-table position in the Blue Square Bet South with a deserved 1-1 draw at league leaders Braintree Town on Saturday.
The Darts made a nightmare start, conceding an own goal after just five minutes. Confusion between Darren Ibrahim - making his first league start for the club - and defender Billy Burgess (pictured) saw the latter head the ball into his own goal from six yards out.
Braintree - beaten just twice at home this season - enjoyed the majority of possession in the in the first half and held their 1-0 lead until eight minutes from time, when Jon Main hit a top drawer lob over Irons Nathan McDonald to level the match. It was the striker's first goal since joining Dartford on loan from Conference high fliers AFC Wimbledon last month.
Neither side could find a goal in the second half as Tony Burman's side gave an excellent defensive performance.
The Darts have taken four points off Braintree in just 11 days, after a 1-0 win at Princes Park two Tuesdays ago.
They are now 15th in the Conference South, six points off the relegation zone.
