The Dartford Crossing has reopened after being shut due to a police incident.

Shortly before 8pm all traffic was being held on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at the Queen Elizabeth II bridge and long tailbacks were reported.

Traffic had been released by 8.25pm.

The nature of the incident is not yet known.

Kent Police has been approached for more information.
