Opponents of plans to scrap a much-loved Dartford care home are heading for what could be their final showdown with council bosses.

Supporters of The Limes are travelling to county hall in the fight to save the Brent Lane centre from closure, just a month before its future is decided.

They secured the debate, which is due to take place tomorrow (Thursday) after presenting Kent County Council with petitions containing more than 7,000 signatures.

KCC plans to axe the centre along with eight other care homes across the county in a bid to shave millions from its adult social services budget.
