A car overturned after it hit a traffic light pole.

The accident took place on Princes Road, Dartford, at around 5.25am.

Police attended and the driver was given a drug test which came back positive. They were arrested for drug driving offences.

Further inquiries have been made by officers this morning, and the driver will be taken to custody to be questioned about the incident.

No one was using the crossing at the time.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene where the driver was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs."
