Drivers in the borough will now be able to pay for their parking using their phone.
It will now be easier for people in Dartford to park as the council announces a collaboration with RingGo, a cashless parking phone app.
It joins Gravesend, Medway, Swale, Folkestone and Hythe, Canterbury, Thanet, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and Dover as places in the county with the application.
Leader of Dartford council Cllr Jeremy Kite (Con) said: “The introduction of RingGo means quick and simple cashless parking payments for local residents and visitors, making life much easier for commuters and trips into town far more convenient for shoppers.”
RingGo managing director Peter O’Driscoll said: “Having Dartford join many other local Kent councils in partnering with RingGo is another string to our bow. Many drivers in the county love the service we provide.
"As it stands in 2020, more than 16 million customers use RingGo across the UK and our solutions are offered in 400 plus towns and cities in the country.”
The app is free to download and drivers are able to get VAT receipts from it, or via the ringgo.co.uk website.
If you don't have a smart phone for the application you can pay for parking over the phone by calling 01322 917527.
