A pulsating game at The Valley saw Charlton record their fourth consecutive win, beating Peterborough 3-2 thanks to three second half goals.
The Addicks endured a dreadful opening spell and went 1-0 down with 28 minutes gone. Lee Tomlin took the ball in the midfield before surging towards the penatly area and striking the ball past Rob Elliot.
Charlton created few chances in the first half - their best opportunity coming when Scott Wagstaff went through on goal, only for his tame effort to be saved comfortably by Joe Lewis.
The referee David Webb was stretchered off around 10 minutes before the break after taking a seemingly innocuous tumble. He was replaced by the fourth official and was given a standing ovation as he left the field with his left leg in a cast. He is believed to have suffered a serious ankle injury.
Posh could have made it 2-0 soon after the interval but were punished with two Charlton goals inside a minute.
First, Johnnie Jackson met a Simon Francis cross and nodded home from close range before Nathan Ecclestone's ball into the box was met by Bradley Wright-Phillips (pictured), who headed the ball into the back of the net for his third goal in as many games.
A Kevin Langmead own goal in the 80th minute put Charlton 3-1 up and seemingly out of sight.
Craig Mackail-Smith pulled one back for the visitors two minutes into stoppage time to set up a tense finale but the Addicks clung on for their eighth home win of the season.
