Charlton ended a run of three straight defeats in impressive fashion with a 5-1 win in their top-of-the-table clash with MK Dons at The Valley in League 1 on Saturday.

Phil Parkinson's side got off to a bad start when Aaron Wilbraham scored from outside the penalty area with a shot that went high into the net to put the visitors in front after nine minutes.

But the MK Dons’ joy lasted only three minutes when David Mooney fired the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the goal to bring the Addicks level.

Nicky Bailey (pictured) ensured Charlton went in ahead at the break when he headed the ball home from close range after 20 minutes.

Lloyd Sam put the home side in a commanding position with a shot into the bottom left hand corner after 64 minutes for the Addicks’ third goal.

Sam Sodje headed home the fourth after 72 minutes, before Deon Burton completed the rout scoring from close range three minutes later.
