Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Rob Elliot has joined Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee.
The Addicks had rejected a £100,000 bid from the Magpies on August 17 and also reported the Premiership club to the Football League for making an unauthorised approach for Elliot.
But the 25-year-old travelled to Newcastle yesterday while the two clubs concluded transfer negotiations.
Elliot, a boyhood Charlton fan, made 109 appearances for the club after making his debut in April 2008.
He was named player of the year runner-up to Nicky Bailey in 2008/09, and started the opening four league games of the current campaign
