Charlton have opened talks with four of their out-of-contract players over new deals.
Jonathan Fortune, Matt Holland, Darren Randolph and Zheng Zhi are all in discussions with the club.
But Darren Ambrose, Svetoslav Todorov, Nicky Weaver, Rashid Yussuff, Aswad Thomas and Harry Arter will not be offered new deals when their contracts expire at the end of the month.
Football club chairman Richard Murray told the club's website: "The period between the end of the season and the end of the players' contracts on June 30th is a peculiar time.
"In light of the club's financial situation, we have to talk and discuss the future with every out-of-contract player and their agents, and there are quite a few in this category this summer. Of course, at the same time they have every right to talk to other clubs as well.
"We have made a number of firm decisions, but are also having talks, which are ongoing, with Jonathan, Matt, Darren and ZiZi.
"While that process continues, the coaching staff and scouting team are identifying players we may want to bring to the club, and we are also talking to a number of other clubs, players and their agents.
"We are working very hard to reshape the squad ahead of what is going to be a critical campaign, and are looking to make a number of changes before the start of the new season."
