A new independent burger joint is on a mission to provide a new taste experience while doing good in its community.
The Smug Cow Burger Co flipped into action last week, serving its first customers from premises in Dartford town centre.
Cheekily named offerings range from its "Smug" beef patty covered in Monterey Jack Cheese and signature sauce to the "Fat Cow" – a messy stacked version with extra patties and smoked turkey bacon.
In addition to its burgers the new takeaway only eatery also stocks hot dogs, wings, ribs, sides, fries, desserts, shakes, as well as vegetarian, vegan and halal options.
The fast food business opened last Monday inside a unit in Apple Court, Home Gardens, and says it hopes to provide Dartford with "truly irresistible, great tasting, quality food".
Dartford MP Gareth Johnson paid the burger shack a visit to speak to the owners about its business aims and forthcoming charity work.
Manager Richard Hearne said: "We have opened Smug Cow, with not just the aim to make a profit, but to create job opportunities for local people and to breathe some new life into our town.
"We are eager to offer 10% discount on collection orders to blue light card holders and to support local charities, especially after the last two years and the impact Covid-19 has had on not just charities, but the general population.
"As business entrepreneurs, we feel it is our moral duty to do whatever we can to support our local community."
He added: "Our opening week has been busy and we have had a good response from the public.
"During our opening week we offered local businesses a discount and had a very good response from that too.
"We hope our popularity continues. We would like to thank all for their custom and support during our first week."
Smug Co Burger is open seven days a week, from midday until 11pm. It's also available for online delivery via the JustEat app.
