Charlton manager Chris Powell has warned the club’s fans to keep their feet on the ground despite the Addicks’ flying start to the npower League 1 season.
Charlton made it three wins in three games with their 2-0 success at Colchester on Tuesday and lead the table on goal difference from Sheffield United – a situation which has encouraged Addicks’ fans to already start believing that this could be their year.
"It’s still August," insisted Powell. "I fully understand people thinking that way and I want our fans to enjoy it but I’m already thinking about Scunthorpe at home now.
"That’s what I’ve got to do and that’s what we’ve got to do.
"I have said to the players they have set a standard and it’s up to us to maintain it. It won’t be easy because we will come up against different teams and different scenarios."
Charlton maintained their 100 per cent start to the season thanks to a first-half brace from Bradley Wright-Phillips (pictured).
