A new housing development and a rugby pitch have been recognised for their great design.
Dartford council's Langley Square development, in Hythe Street, and Dartford Rugby Club's new club house, in Cotton Lane, scored highly at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards.
Langley Square won the Best High Volume New Housing Development award while Dartford Rugby Club was highly commended in the Best Public Service or Educational Building category.
The Langley Square development by Weston Homes set out to transform a former industrial area into a residential district, making maximum use of the site's natural features and historical use.
The development is a collection of apartment blocks situated around the former Mill Pond adjacent to Dartford railway station and is a mix of private, affordable and commercial units, as well as large areas of landscaping, planted trees and a children's play area.
The newly-formed rugby facility at Stone Lodge provides a home for the borough's only rugby club – Dartford Valley Rugby Club.
It is also home to educational and welfare groups, training and employment opportunities and support for its neighbouring school, Stone Lodge School.
It also boasts a carefully crafted clubhouse building providing function rooms, viewing and meeting areas, changing and catering facilities, treatment rooms, offices, bar area and two full size rugby pitches.
Council leader Jeremy Kite said: "Winning these prestigious awards shows that it is possible to build fantastic new homes and community facilities with the vision of great project teams.
"We are so grateful to both BBS Construction and Weston Homes for helping us to continuously create a sustainable community and wonderful places to live, work and play for our residents."
