Stone Parish Council vote to help Dartford Parish Council remove future flytipping

Stone Parish Council has voted to take action against the “continual blight” of flytipping in the parish.

Councillors have decided to help Dartford Borough Council remove flytipping from the area so the rubbish is moved as quickly as possible.

Chairman of the council, John Burrell, said: “Fly-tipping, particularly in Cotton Lane, is a continual blight on the parish and therefore it seems right to take a pragmatic approach to the situation to improve the situation on behalf of local residents.

“While it is outside of our scope to deal with substantial or hazardous tips, we are in a capacity to assist with removal of smaller debris or waste which looks unsightly and encourages further tipping.”

Residents can report flytipping online at www.dartford.gov.uk or by posting on the council’s Facebook page.
