A major road was closed for three hours after a police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle.
The coastbound carriageway of the A2 was shut following the collision just past the Darenth Interchange at about 8.50pm last night.
A roadside barrier was damaged but no serious injuries were reported.
Investigations into the circumstances are ongoing. The other car involved in the crash was not being pursued by police.
National Highways confirmed the road closure at 9.30pm and then said the carriageway had reopened just before 1am in the early hours of this morning.
A police spokesman said: “At around 8.50pm on Friday a police car was involved in a collision with another car on the A2 coastbound just past the Darenth Interchange.
“The carriageway was closed for a period of time to allow for the recovery of the vehicles involved and for a roadside barrier to be repaired.
“No serious injuries were reported and enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.”
