Delays heading towards the Dartford Crossing have cleared, hours after a crash involving a car and a lorry.

Highways England and emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on the anti-clockwise route between junction two of the A2 Darenth Interchange and junction 1B of the A296 Princes Road in Dartford.

All lanes had reopened by late-morning, but lengthy queues remained until about 1.30pm.

A spokesman for Highways England said earlier: "There was an incident at 9.23am between junction two and junction 1B anti-clockwise on the M25."
